I was born I was born and raised in Nevada and later moved from Elko to attend the University of Nevada, Reno. There, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Substance Abuse Treatment in 2011. I continued my education at UNR, completing my master’s degree in Counseling and Educational Psychology. These experiences laid the foundation for my passion for supporting individuals and families on their journey toward healing and growth.
After graduating with my master’s degree I After graduating with my master’s degree, I worked as a school counselor in Reno, gaining firsthand insight into the challenges children and parents face within the school system.
I then began completing my internship hours toward licensure, where I gained experience working with rural populations, children and their families, couples, and individuals of all ages.
I am currently pursuing registration as a Play Therapist through the Association for Play Therapy. I enjoy working with children using child-centered play therapy as my foundational approach. Play therapy provides a safe, judgment-free space for children to explore their thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. It allows them to express themselves freely and work through experiences in their own way.
Because this therapeutic approach forms the foundation of my practice, I incorporate these principles with clients of all ages. In therapy, it is essential to feel safe, heard, understood, and met with unconditional positive regard, and I strive to create that environment for everyone who walks through my door.
