What is Child-Parent Relationship (CPR) Training?

Child-Parenting Relationship Training is a evidenced and play-based program for children under the age of 10 that struggle with problems at home and school. This program is helpful with children that struggle with emotional, social, behavioral, and attachment concerns. CPRT is about learning a new way to better connect with your child(ren) and create a secure relationship with them to increase mental health and well-being. You will learn the basic skills I use in working with children better understand your child’s wants and needs. 

CPRT is typically ran as 10 weekly sessions that take 1.5 hour to 2 hours each time. Sessions are presented in a group format. During sessions you will get support from the therapist around different skills to increase being attuned with your child. Parent’s will also learn alternative ways to limit a child’s misbehavior. Parents will do a weekly play session with their child and receive feedback from the facilitator, Amanda Green.

In 10 weeks, you will learn how to:

Regain control as a parent

Help your child develop self-control

Effectively discipline and limit inappropriate behavior

Understand your child’s emotional needs

Communicate more effectively with your child

 In 10 weeks, you will see a noticeable difference in:

Your relationship with your child

Your child’s behavior

Your ability to respond effectively
